Volunteer credit program

The following Scholarship and Awards currently require Volunteer service:

  • ADA Scholarship Program requires Member volunteer service

ADA Rider of the Year requires Rider (or their surrogate) volunteer service

ADA Horse of the Year requires Owner (or their surrogate) volunteer service

  • In 2010, the Arizona Dressage Association created the Volunteer Credit Program based on the recommendation from the show committee and board members and based on the successful implementation of many other GMOs that utilize this program.

  • In order to be eligible for Year-End Awards, a member must participate in the Volunteer Credit Program by donating their time or providing a surrogate to donate time on your behalf. An alternative to volunteering is to pay a "substitute to volunteering" fee.  The minimum number of volunteer hours required is four (4) and is designed to be easily obtained.  The fee to substitute the volunteer hours, should you not be available to volunteer through the many different opportunities outlined below, is $50.

  • HOW TO VOLUNTEER

Contact the Show or Event Manager of the show/event where you want to volunteer. Contact information is available on the Individual Show page and/or on the ADA calendar. Whether you like to scribe, ring steward, run tests, work in the office, or do special projects, there are many opportunities to volunteer!

  • HOW IT WORKS

The event coordinator will track your volunteer hours and submit them to the proper person. However, we suggest that you track your hours as well in case there is a discrepancy. We suggest that you KEEP a log throughout the year to help keep track of your hours!! We will also post periodic updates so you can check your hours throughout the year.

  • How the credits add up…

  • Volunteer service can be accomplished in a variety of ways:

    • Write Articles for the Centerline Newsletter (1 hour/page published)

      • Scribe
      • Scorer
      • Ring Steward
      • Announcer
